Hydraulic Institute Opens Registration For 2014 Fall Meeting
|
The Hydraulic Institute (HI) 2014 Fall Meeting will take place October
8-10, 2014, at the Chase Park Plaza in St. Louis, Missouri. Registration is now
open to HI Members, Associate Members, Standards Partners, and Utilities &
Energy Efficiency NGOs who are sponsors of Pump Systems Matter. Eligible
prospective members are welcome to attend with advance approval.
This year’s Fall Meeting will focus on the DOE test procedures, integrated
educational marketing ,
and standards development. Special presentations will be delivered by topic
experts and include:
- Pump Knowledge Workshop: Standard Conditions Labeling per DOE Test Procedures
& Updates on New Efficiency Requirements for Electric Motors (Lunch)
Wednesday, October 8, 2014, 12:30 – 1:30pm
Timothy Albers and Patrick Hogg of Nidec Motor Corporation will guide attendees
through the maze of regulations and rulings, explain efficiency terminology, and
provide practical guidelines for motor specification given the changing
regulatory landscape.

Leveraging Educational Training Resources and Pump Systems Assessment Process

Mark Sullivan, Director, Education and Marketing
of the Hydraulic Institute will explain how education and training resources may
be utilized as integrated marketing tools based on ANSI/HI Pump Standards to
expand organizational reach to end-users and prospects.

update
Thursday, October 9, 1:45 – 2:45pm
Eric McClafferty, Partner, Kelley Drye & Warren and Legal Counsel to HI/VMA ITTF
and Scott Sullivan, VP, Ethics, Compliance & Legal, Flowserve Corporation and
ITTF Co-Chair will provide an update on new or pending import/export regulations
including a section on export reform and its effects on the pump industry.
Over thirty HI Technical Committees will meet to review and advance specific
areas of knowledge and work that ultimately will result in the development of
new or updated ANSI/HI Pump Standards. Attendees with particular topic interest
or subject matter expertise will have the opportunity to participate in these
technical meetings. Young engineers are particularly encouraged to attend.
The Fall Meeting also provides plenty of opportunities to network with top pump
industry professionals. On the evening of Wednesday, October 8th all meeting
attendees are invited to the “City Museum” for a private tour and dinner.. On
Thursday, October 9th, there will be a tabletop display reception, an excellent
opportunity for Pump OEMs, Supplier OEMs, and Standards Partners to network and
browse various pump products and services.
To encourage meeting attendance by “Young Engineers,” HI is offering a 50%
discount on registration to individuals at member companies who are under the
age of thirty-five and have served less than 10 years in the pump industry. HI
is also offering a group discount, as well as an Early Bird discount to
individuals who register
on or before August 29, 2014. Prospective members, including engineering
